Krorus, the Coiling Hour

Form
Krorus does not announce himself. He is simply there β coiled at the edge of a moment, black and gold scales catching light at the wrong angle, shimmering too-white even in deep shadow. His eyes are blue; the specific blue of sky seen through deep water; they move with unhurried deliberation regardless of what they are watching.
He is large in the way geological features are large. Not threatening, exactly β vast. The coiling of his body displaces the air before the mind catches up to what it is seeing. He does not rush. The Athenaeum has been unable to confirm an account of him ever needing to.
Domain
The Coiling Hour sees. By his own account β delivered to this correspondent in seven words β he has seen the same moment from every angle it possesses and several it doesn't, and he finds this interesting rather than exhausting. Time is his domain not because he controls it but because he understands it in a way that makes control seem beside the point.
Knowledge accumulates around him the way water collects in low places β not sought, simply gathered, by virtue of existing long enough and paying attention. The Athenaeum has, on three separate occasions, attempted to formally request a copy of even a small fraction of his standing knowledge. All three requests were answered in identical fashion: a single sentence, written in a hand no scribe could later replicate, declining politely.
He acts when something interests him. Not when something is good, not when something is evil β when it is interesting, which is a different axis entirely. The historical record contains three dynasties he is known to have meddled in, one faith he is known to have founded, and the particular death of a philosopher whose final thoughts he is reported to have preserved. None of the affected parties knew why. He rarely explains himself. When he does, the explanation tends to open further questions.
Worship
No temples. No organized rite. The Athenaeum has documented small cults of the unusually curious β cartographers who believe he shifts the trade winds to complicate their maps, historians who leave the margins of their work blank as an invitation, the occasional mortal who looked up at the wrong moment and caught something enormous watching them back. The cults do not coordinate. This suits him, by the assessment of every correspondent the Athenaeum has assigned to the topic.
Relationships
Meni β They have been friends long enough that the word loses precision. Krorus slows the river of moments around Meni during each soul collection β unhurried time, extended for unhurried work. Neither of them has discussed it in centuries. By Meni's clergy's account, it is simply what is done.
Tindrel β A planar deity of Heofon who will not speak Krorus's name. Krorus is the one entity Tindrel genuinely fears: every bloodline thins, every immortal eventually ends, and time is not a force the Verdani can outvote. Krorus, by every available account, has not given the matter much thought.
Veshen β A long, low collegial affection. Time and the year overlap in ways neither has bothered to formalize. They take walks together at irregular intervals, mostly in silence, often along old field-roads.
Lobelia β Krorus sees what she does not. He has, on three documented occasions, arranged for small kindnesses to reach her by routes she could not trace back to him. She has not thanked him. He did not need her to.
Saessa β She flirts with him at every opportunity. He does not notice. By his own brief comment on the matter β "What is she doing?" β he genuinely does not notice. The Athenaeum considers him blameless in the matter and Saessa undeterred.
